MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF
THE PARK BOARD OF THE CITY OF ENID, OKLAHOMA,
HELD ON THE 14TH DAY OF JANUARY 2020

 
 
             The Park Board of the City of Enid, County of Garfield, State of Oklahoma, met in regular meeting in the Lower Level Conference Room of the Administration Building of the City of Enid, located at 401 West Owen K. Garriott Road in said city, at 1:30 P.M. on the 14th day of January 2020, and pursuant to notice thereof displayed at the entrance to the Administration Building of said city, in prominent view and which notice was posted prior to 1:30 P.M. on the 13th day of January 2020.

CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL.
             
CONSIDER APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE ENID PARK AND RECREATION BOARD REGULAR MEETING OF DECEMBER 10, 2019.
  Motion was made by James Cheatham, seconded by Mark Keefer -with correction of spelling of Chief in Erin Crawfords title.

UPDATE ON PICKLEBALL COURTS.
  Cory Buller stated that he has sent out for quotes to resurface the Pickleball Courts. $36,000 has been budgeted to resurface the courts. This will get us 8 courts.  He has gotten 1 quote back with an estimate of $3,000-$4,000 for the resurfacing or each court and $1,200-$1,500 for the netting for each courts. He does have 1 more quote that he is waiting on.
             
UPDATE ON THE FINAL CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK.
  Kim Haley stated that there were 4,300 people that attended this years Christmas in the Park. Last years total was 2,400. The Kiwanis Club sold 6,164 tickets and Kim responded to 351 letters to Santa.
             
DISCUSS KELLET BALL FIELD LIGHTING.
  Cory Buller stated that the pre-bid meeting is done and the contract should be awarded next week.
             
DISCUSS PRE-EMERGENT APPLICATIONS.
  Cory Buller stated that we will start spraying in January and will hopefully be done in Feburary with post application in April/May. Winds need to be under 10 mph. There is roughly 450 acres to spray. They are going to try to tackle the stickers at Crosslin park, this will take 4 applications. We will also use a leaf rake to try to remove some of the dead stickers.
             
DISCUSS ATHLETIC FIELD PREPARATION FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON.
  Cory Buller is setting up meetings with all the organizations to start scheduling. Power at Kellet park will be an issue and once the contractor is awarded we will know more about how much it will affect the use of the field. Fencing at two of the fields at Crosslin park will be replaced.  
             
DISCUSS PARK PAVILION PAINTING.
  Cory Buller stated that touch up paint will be applied to all of the pavillions at all of the parks. Champlin park has already been started. Dark Pine is the color that will be used.
             
DISCUSS PARK MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENTS AND MAKE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS.
  Cory Buller stated that the waterfall pump is ready to install once the weather warms up enough. Currently irrigation is being installed on the new Crosslin fileds. The poles for the new score boards are painted and ready, we are waiting on electricitly to be run for the borads to be installed.The parking lot is also completly done and just waiting on the painting to be done once the weather allows. Everything will be ready by the start of softball season.  
             
PUBLIC COMMENTS.
  Terms expirations and limits were discussed.

Brookside Park was discussed.

The trail flow through downtown was discussed.

The current status of the Skate Park was discussed.
