The City Council invites citizens to address the Council on any topic not already scheduled for Public Hearing.  Citizens wishing to speak should complete a "Citizen Response Card" and present it to the City Secretary prior to the meeting.  Speakers are limited to 3 minutes.  In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the City Council cannot take action on items not listed on the agenda.  However, your concerns may be addressed by City Staff, placed on a future agenda, or responded to by some other course.

1.   Consider the First Amendment to the Interlocal Cooperative Agreement with STAR Transit for Public Transportation Services in DeSoto, for a total amount of $139,860. Click to View
2.   Consider an Ordinance adopting the Budget for the Fiscal Year Beginning October 1, 2019, and ending September 30, 2020; adopting the 2020-2024 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), adopting The 2019-2020 Business Plan, and amending the Base and Volume Rate Charge For Water Service Fees, amending the Base and Volume Charge For Sewer Service Fees and amending the Sanitation rate. 3.   Consider and take a separate vote to ratify a property tax revenue increase as reflected in the FY 2019-2020 Annual Operating Budget when compared to the FY 2018-2019 Annual Operating Budget. This budget will raise more property taxes than last year's budget by $2,567,648; which is an 8.32% increase from last year's budget; and of that amount, $610,361 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to roll this year.  Click to View

Pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551. 0415 the City Council may report on the following items: ( 1) expression of thanks, congratulations or condolences; ( 2) information about holiday schedules; 3) recognition of individuals; ( 4) reminders about upcoming City Council events; ( 5) information about community events; and ( 6) announcements involving imminent threat to public health and safety.
